I’m a nerd) telling me that there would be a test ensured my complete, albeit anxious, attention.

Around the age of 19 or so, my father and I were in the garage and he was explaining to me how to use something – I honestly can’t remember if it was the air compressor or the welding equipment – and he said, “Pay attention – there will be a test.”

Being a bit of a pain in the butt during my teenage years, I said, “When? When’s the test? You’ve been telling me my whole life that there is going to be a test, but there never is!”

My father looked at me very calmly and said, “Life is the test.”

Then he walked rather smugly into the house.

On September 29, 2010 my father passed from this world into the next. The wonderful members of Soul’s Journey Lightworkers, SIACAP, SIPA, Daughters of the Sacred Torch, and many other loving and kind Reiki practitioners sent Reiki to help with his transition to the next world. My mother, who has worked as a hospice nurse for over 30 years said it was one of the most peaceful passings she had witnessed.

One of the great things about the spiritual community and Reiki community is their willingness to help those in need. The support and love this community has given to me has been immeasurable. I honestly believe that without this support, I would be dwelling on the death of my father instead of celebrating his life.

Going through all of the pictures of my father’s life, I realized how rich his life and ours had been. Trying to list all of the things my father taught me would turn into a book, but I can list some of the experiences I’ve had that I wouldn’t have had otherwise. Thanks to my father I’ve water skiied, snow skiied, bungee jumped, seen oceans and mountains, pet sharks, dolphins and many other animals, visited Europe, and much more.

Unlike many of my pagan brethren, I always had a very easy time of being Wiccan with my family, mainly due to my father’s open mind. When I first became Wiccan, he asked a lot of questions and even read several books – I think he was initially worried I’d joined some sort of cult, but he reserved his judgment until he had researched Wicca. After finishing one of the books he remarked on how it was very similar to how he had always believed. My father was very big on understanding what was going on first, then making a judgment call.

Part of why he was so open to my pagan path was his deep love of nature. Every spring, the first sunny and warm day after a rainfall, my family would go morel hunting. My parents would call off work, they would call us in sick for the day, and the whole family would go out into the woods to hunt for morels. It was always a rejuvenating and fun tradition.

Any time there was a turtle in the road, my dad would stop to save it. Something all three of his daughters still do to this day. As a matter of fact, I knew my husband was the man for me when I pulled over to the side of the road to save a turtle and instead of having to explain my actions to him, he just hopped out and escorted the turtle to the other side of a road.

Above all else, my father loved birds, especially birds of prey. He regularly gave donations to Treehouse, a wildlife rescue and rehabilitation charity in the River Bend area similar to our local Free Again. One of his favorite birds was the red tailed hawk. We would take various car trips and have contests to see which family member could spot the most hawks.

Lately, the hawks have been saying hello. The number of hawks that have been very conspicuous in my presence has really grown in the weeks since my father died. There was one that

even seemed to be waving at me, but my rational brain would insist that this was just wishful thinking. However, yesterday my younger sister and I were driving when my older sister called. We put her on speakerphone so we could all three talk, and that was when a huge hawk, lit almost golden by the sun, flew by us. In what was mere seconds later, my older sister saw a red tailed hawk fly by as well. This happy coincidence again occurred a few hours later when my older sister called and spoke with us again. My mother and younger sister recently bought a new vehicle and while test driving it together they wondered aloud if my father would like it and a red tailed hawk flew mere feet right over the vehicle, as if in approval. While I already believe quite firmly in the afterlife, the recent behavior of the hawks has really confirmed for me that the spirit does go on and after our loved ones have passed, they do find ways to say hi.

We were all very lucky to have my father in the world. He stopped for people on the side of the road, in winter he would pull cars out of ditches just to be nice, and he saved many, many turtles. He was a force of good in the world that will be sorely missed.

For every house repair, car repair, or other major decision in my life, I would call and talk to my dad. His approval and support, not to mention his vast knowledge, were always a comfort and a help. There have been many times recently where I think I should ask Dad about something, but unfortunately, I can’t. I keep thinking that life without him is really is the biggest test and I am glad that I was paying attention.

http://sjlightworkers.com

The fax machine didn’t work, your email seems to be sending important messages to your spam filter, traffic seems much worse than it normally does, etc. These type of problems with communication and travel often occur during a Mercury retrograde phase.

When Mercury is in its retrograde phase, it is more difficult to communicate. Sometimes this is an issue of cell phones dropping calls or texts, or other electronic devices going haywire, sometimes it just means people aren’t listening or are misunderstanding what you are saying. You will see people online often behaving in a much more aggressive fashion during a Mercury retrograde period, as well.

As a tarot reader I tend to get more business during a retrograde phase because people often fight with significant others during this time period, have a difficulty with co-workers, or other problems that occur due to the energy of the retrograde. In addition, the retrograde time period is great for self evaluation and for understanding what is working and what isn’t working in your life, which is perfect for tarot readings.

Even with extra work coming in, I have always dreaded the Mercury retrograde period. I don’t like conflict all that much and it seems that Mercury going retrograde often causes all sorts of little squabbles to arise as people misconstrue or misunderstand what another person is saying. Sometimes though, these squabbles are necessary to clear the air. They help us to find solutions to our problems so that we may avoid future conflict.

One of the sites I frequent spoke of Mercury retrograde being a time to reflect, review, re-evaluate, or anything else that starts with an “re”. Time should be spent reviewing, returning to old issues, re-doing things that aren’t quite right, repairing broken items around the house and basically assimilating what we have learned and experienced since the last retrograde period. Mercury retrograde can be a pain in the neck, as so much of what we do every day involves communication or travel, but many times a little bit of forethought and planning can help to avoid most of these problems.

I’ve often heard it said that you should never start something new during a retrograde phase or that you shouldn’t sign contracts during the three week period of the retrograde. Most of these endeavors will fail to get off the ground. However, it seems to me that I always have great ideas for groups or other new projects that I want to try out during a Mercury retrograde. The ideas happen very fast during a retrograde, but the action has to be slower. Having a phenomenal idea during a retrograde period should be followed with re-evaluation of the idea, review of the plan, and generally should stay in the idea or mental stages. After the three weeks of the retrograde, you may then implement the idea without worrying that it was started during a retrograde phase.

The first weekend of May 2009, there were high winds that ripped through the area, killing thousands of trees, doing enormous amounts of property damage, and in one very memorable case, ripping the roof off of an apartment complex. This was also the first day of the Mercury retrograde. The results of the derecho, or “inland hurricane” as most people are calling it, typify the energies of the Mercury retrograde phase as streets were blocked off everywhere due to trees and downed powerlines, power was off to most homes for days to weeks, cell phones didn’t work right for several hours after the storm, and most people canceled their weekend plans to pick up the resultant mess.

However, while the derecho really was harmful to many of us, many of the trees that were downed had rotted out centers. While quite a few healthy trees perished, quite a few unhealthy trees also went down, clearing the way for new growth. Nature often does this type of clearing out – this time the heavy winds removed the very large but sick trees for the healthy ones to get greater access to sunlight and water.

During this storm, the roof blew off of a friend’s apartment building. She ended up having to move, missing a retreat she had helped organize, and missing days of work. It was a huge hassle as she dealt with her insurance (remember – renter’s insurance really can help you out of tough spot!), moved from her apartment and was briefly having to live with friends or family for a while. However, when she moved into her new apartment, she found that she was happier in the new location and the move itself kick started a period of growth for her that she may not have had otherwise. While she was furious and frustrated at the time, she did say months later that the storm ripping off her apartment building’s roof really did help her out in the long run.

While I still dread the retrograde phase of Mercury, I now see that there is a reason these energies swirl around us three times a year. Sometimes old issues must be cleared out so that we can move forward. I also think that a time of reflection and contemplation is a gift in many ways, if you utilize it properly. That said, I am still going to avoid driving anywhere unnecessary for a while.

After thought: Here is the link for one of my favorite sites about Mercury retrograde. It tells which days fall in the shadow period and which days are going to be the most chaotic. It is a really great guide and where I first read that anything that begins with “re” is what is done during a retrograde.

http://www.astroprofile.com/2010mercuryrx.htm

The year changes as the calendar year does – they will have a corresponding link.

Thanks!
Rev. It was low-key and pleasant throughout the weekend, and I really had a great time visiting with my family. Fireworks were exciting as some of them seemed intent on setting us on fire, but that was fun too, in an adrenaline sort of way! Then, I took Tuesday off of all of my jobs, and Will and I went to the movies.

I *love* going to the movies. I love the theater, I love the whole experience, and I love previews. Overall, it was a really good day.

While out at my parents house, I went swimming with my sister and then my mom. I realized that I need to be out in the sun more. I think that being out in the sun helped make me happier – I have a vitamin D deficiency and when I was swimming my body was just so pleased with the sunlight. I have decided that every Monday when I visit them I am going to swim for at least an hour, out in the sun. It really does recharge my batteries.

Since I have had clinical depression since high school, I tend toward the negative in things, something I have fought hard against with low to middling results, but I get better at it every year. The past two years have been unusually rough ones, yet out of the rough times comes an even greater need to pursue my happiness. Otherwise, I may get lost in the unhappiness, and that would be bad.

Lately, my batteries have been pretty low and so has my mood. I’ve been working a lot – currently I have 4 jobs I am juggling, not counting HPing DST or any of the blogs I keep up with. I think I spent most of May and June just working and sleeping, and I’ve realized that this is no way to live. My epiphany this weekend was that I need to actively pursue my own happiness and I have to have one day off from everything a week.

With the goal of pursuing my own happiness in mind, I’ve decided that on Tuesdays I am going to unplug my phone, hang out with Will, and go to the movies. The movies are fun for me, and I am always disappointed that I don’t see more movies in the theater. Well, that is easy enough to change by simply going more often. Yesterday we went to see the A-Team, which was cheesy good fun just like the tv series and very enjoyable. As Will said, in the previews they showed them flying a tank and that pretty much tells you everything you need to know about the movie.

It is easy to dwell on the things that make us unhappy, but I think instead we should dwell on the things that make us happy. Active pursuit of happiness in its myriad forms may not be always be easy, and we all feel guilt for doing things just for ourselves, but I think that if you are not pursuing happiness in your life, what’s the point? So I have decided to do the following:

Be out in the sun more – it really does give you a boost even when it is miserably hot outside. 20-40 minutes a day, with swimming on Monday should work well for this purpose. Although, I am going to need some sunblock.

Movie Tuesday – Every Tuesday I am going to go to the movies with Will. He loves the movies as much as I do, and if I am going, he wants to go, too. I think that going to the movies regularly is going to help us both and it will be a regular date night for us. I like Will and I like doing things with him, so this will be happy making on multiple levels. Also, Will needs one day off a week, too, and my sincere hope is that this will help him be happy as well.

Exercise – I really hate this one as I am naturally lazy, but man, exercise really does give you that emotional boost. That said, I think I will stick with my treadmill until it gets a bit cooler. Fall and Spring are great for bike rides, though, so I think I may spend my 20-40 minutes outdoors on my bicycle during the cooler months.

Attitude – We worked with Ra for Litha, and one of the things that we were advised to do was throw our problems into the sun. Release the negative to be burned away and keep the positive. Now, this will be the hardest one to follow, but the most important step. For example, say during the implementation of Tuesday Movie Day we get cut off in traffic or something along those lines, instead of focusing on that negative thing, focus on the positive things in the day. Our thoughts do a great deal to manifest things in our lives, so negativity begets negativity but the reverse is also true. Pessimism may be more accurate, but optimists sure seem like happier people, don’t they?

Spirituality – Forgive and move on. There are numerous meditations, rituals, and exercises that can help you release the negativity from hurts of the past. Most of them involve forgiving yourself and others for various hurts in your life. Releasing this stored anger is freeing and it helps promote a healthier and happier you. I’ve found that forgiveness work really does help with a variety of things. I’ve made amends where needed for wrongs I’ve committed and I’ve let go of those wrongs committed against me. It was a lot easier than I expected it to be and so much opened up once I did this. You get see the world in a new way when you aren’t carrying around every single hurt from the past. Learn from the past hurts, but release the anger and resentment attached to these lessons. Purging stored negativity from the past is good for the soul!

I think the hardest thing for me has been deciding to put myself first. However, there is no way I can help others if I am a wreck, so the first step is to take care of me, and then take care of others. Too often we get the order confused and try to take care of others when we aren’t really even taking care of ourselves. To quote Buffy, the first rule of slaying is don’t die – and that is a good metaphor to follow.

I’m sure there are many ways to pursue happiness and each of us have different methods. What do you do to actively pursue your own happiness?

http://sjlightworkers.com

Last fall, I realized that my prayers could be accurately described of as a wishlist of things I wanted the Divine to do for me. Help me to do this, please can I have that, etc. While I often would include thanks to the gods in my prayers it was almost always an afterthought. After I noticed this, I couldn’t stop noticing it, and it made me feel like I was praying incorrectly. I know that there is not right or wrong way to pray, but giving a list of demands to the gods didn’t really set well with me.

The pagan thanksgiving celebration is celebrated during the autumnal equinox in September. My women’s spirituality group got together for a ritual and a thanksgiving feast to mark the occasion last year. As part of the day, we placed on paper leaves the various things we were thankful for, then strung the paper leaves on a string and placed them on a tree outside. As the wind blew through the paper leaves, our prayer of thanks went out to the powers that be, at least until the first rainfall.

I realized during this ritual that I should be thankful every day. Having a special occasion to celebrate our thanks for the good things in life is a wonderful and necessary thing, but on a personal level, I felt it shouldn’t be only once a year. Also, by thinking of what I was thankful for every day, I thought that maybe I would start seeing the world a bit differently.

This isn’t a new idea. During Thanksgiving, someone usually brings up the idea that you should be thankful every day, not just on a holiday. People nod in agreement, but mostly this type of thing just blows right past us. For me, when someone says that on Thanksgiving, I usually think that the person needs to get off of their high horse and eat some stuffing. Someone eating stuffing is always preferable to a lecture on life lessons, especially because people have to discover certain things themselves, in their own time, in their own way. Thankfulness is one of those things that needs to be discovered as part of a person’s personal journey.

Everyone’s life has good and bad. I have a habit of focusing on the negative more often than the positive. Part of this is because when talking with others, focusing on the positive too much feels like bragging. I could tell you how I’m married to the best person on the planet and then list the ways in which my spouse is awesome, but at a certain point, it sounds not only like arrogant bragging, but it also becomes boring. However, telling you about the horrible person who waited on me at the store is more interesting somehow.

However, focusing so much time and energy on the negative in life, on what we lack instead of what we have, seems like a disservice to the gods and a disservice to ourselves. Part of why I switched my prayers to being thankful was because it made life a little bit more fun. I try to find three new things to be thankful about every day. Some days this comes very easy, other days it can be a bit of a challenge, but the challenging days are made better by trying to find some good in the chaos.

Some days I find something truly majestic and awe inspiring to be thankful about, such as the time I saw a bald eagle on Rt. 127. The eagle was standing in the middle of the road and flew away when my car approached. I was very close when the eagle flew away and it was beautiful and so unexpected I felt as if I had been given a gift. On another day, when it was bitterly cold, I saw a red tailed hawk sitting on top of a power line. He was puffed out due to the cold and resembled a football, which was both cute and amusing as he looked incredibly fierce and incredibly fluffy, two things that don’t often mesh well. Nature often has many fantastic and beautiful offerings for me to be thankful for.

Other times I find myself thankful for something small or seemingly inconsequential. For example, I am really thankful that my Netflix account has a Watch Instantly option. I love instant gratification, and when it comes to movies, often by the time the movie arrives at my house I am no longer in the mood to see it. Watching instantly fixes this problem. I am also thankful for the peanut butter cups that are egg shaped for Easter – they have the perfect chocolate to peanut butter ratio. Deep and meaningful? Not really, but they are things I love and am thankful for, so they get a mention.

By focusing throughout the day on what I am going to thank the gods for in my prayers, I find that I look at my day in a different way. Instead looking at the negative on focusing in on the bad things that happen, I focus on the positive. Don’t get me wrong, I still have bad days where I want to scream, but even on those days I can find three things to be thankful for. If I can’t I always have the old standby of being thankful for my spouse, my house, and my friends and family and my spouse, house, and friends and family are truly great, so there is a lot just in those three to be happy about.

http://sjlightworkers.com

More and more people are being put on the path of the lightworker. I’ve noticed this explosion of people becoming more in tune with their spiritual selves in my own area of rural, Southern Illinois. When I say Southern Illinois, think more Kentucky and Missouri – where I live is below the Mason-Dixon line and not near major cities.

Region is important because up until recent years, most progressive spiritual practices seemed to take place on the east or west coast of the nation, but for a rural area to have this explosion of people learning about Reiki, or tarot or a host of other lightworker tools is remarkable. Yesterday, I went to an all day Reiki Healing Retreat put on by SIACAP – The Southern Illinois Association of Complementary and Alternative Practitioners. With four 45 minute healing exchanges throughout the day, we broke into small groups of four and took turns healing each other through various modalities. There were two lovely guided meditations, and vendors who read tarot, took aura photographs, sold massage supplies such as eye pillows, and much more.

SIACAP’s mission is “to promote alternative healing modalities through teaching, sharing, and practicing and to promote community health through outreach programs and classes in various modalities.” Not a member? That’s ok, the retreat costs only $10 for non-members if they preregister. As SIACAP is a non profit organization, registration at the door is not that expensive, either. Members who haven’t pre-registered it is $10 and nonmembers who register at the door are only $15. These retreats happen 3 times a year, and the cost at the door is to pay for the location costs, and eventually, guest speakers and teachers.

Why do I bring up the price of a retreat? Because it illustrates that people are getting together to help each other spiritually, not for money, but because it is needed. Once upon a time, to become a Reiki Master you needed $10,000. Now, people are passing on Reiki attunements for $20. This doesn’t mean that Reiki has become an undervalued system, it means that people are recognizing that the world needs as many healers and lightworkers as it can get. There are even some Reiki Masters who pass along attunements for free simply so that people have this skill and can help the world with it.

I think that certain people are instrumental in training more lightworkers. During yesterday’s retreat, all of the Reiki Masters were asked to meet together so that people could get to know each other. As we made our introductions, almost all of us could trace our beginnings on this path back to the SIACAP founder and president, Lorie Allen. Through her continuing education classes at a local Community College, we all first learned how to use our talents and focus our skills on healing touch or Reiki. This one lone woman taught us and then brought us all together and my bet is this is part of her life’s purpose – she is one of those souls who are meant to train and awaken large groups of people. http://www.touchingpaws.com/ is her website, although she is so busy with classes and clients, the class page hasn't been update in a while.

Women and men like her are out there, helping others put their feet on the path of healer and lightworker. Organizations like SIACAP are forming and gaining members because lightworkers are growing in numbers and banding together to share talent, share knowledge, and help others. Have you ever asked yourself why someone didn't start something like this in your community? Maybe, just maybe, you are the person who is supposed to start the group. If you build it, people will come.

For my own personal journey, finding Soul’s Journey online helped plug me into a network of caring people, much like those people who are part of SIACAP. For Soul’s Journey and SIACAP to both come into my life around the same time says to me that something profoundly wonderful is happening. Lightworkers are coming together more and more and together we are finding the support and care we need to help others in meaningful ways. Isn’t that what being a lightworker is all about?

Interested in SIACAP? Go online at http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/SIACAP/ to join the online listserv or go http://www.facebook.com/#!/group.php?gid=475959990576&ref=ts to see the Facebook group – although many of our members are not very interested in computers, we do have a bit of online presence should you like more information.

http://sjlightworkers.com

One of the small ways this can be accomplished is through small talk. Small talk does matter to people and can make them feel happy and important.

My women’s spirituality circle has recently undergone some changes, including the addition of new candidates for membership. For me, group mind is of supreme importance and so I spend quite a bit of time observing how the candidates interact with each other. There is one eye kept open for possible problems, another that looks to see who would work well together on projects, and both eyes on how the group runs when all of us are together and the strengths of the various members.

Many of these candidates are not just new to us, but new to each other. So much of what goes on in a circle like ours is of an intensely personal nature – this is a spirituality that is based in large part on personal growth – so having a circle of people that like each other and trust each other is pretty high on the priority list. You can still have rituals, healing, and energy exchances with people who are lukewarm with each other, but they are rarely transcendent experiences.

To that end, small talk bridges much of the gaps that people have when first meeting. Everyone is nervous. Everyone wants to be liked. Our group has a 90 day candidate period where we make sure that the person in question is the right fit for the group and vice versa, so everyone is on “good” behavior, or at least displaying some degree of company manners. However, we do have to get to know one another and become more familiar with each other. In comes small talk.

One recent meeting, the small talk centered around lentils and other beans. On the surface talking about eating lentils, and the preference of red lentils, and the various ways you can cook lentils (lentil loaf!) may seem more than a little dry or tedious, but it wasn’t. The lentil discussion gave four different people common ground with each other. Four people who don’t really know each other. Also, the conversation of lentils came out of a more serious issue of how to stretch a dollar in these times of major economic meltdown – a meltdown many of us feel very keenly as we try to make do with less. This lentil conversation showed how many people in our group had the scary experience of trying to feed many people with very little money and how beans and rice often came riding to the rescue in these situations. These women will understand if a member of our group loses their job, because they have been there before and had to survive that hardship. This is good to know.

However, even talk of the weather yields common ground. I like to know who gets cold easily so I can remind them to wear a sweater to my house – I like it cold. I also want to know who really enjoys summer. Talk of weather often leads to talk of who has lived in a different climate, what that climate was like, and the energy of the place. All good information to have.

Also, weather is an important part of our lives. The rain often makes basements in this area flood, or provides a good way to obtain water for ritual. Snow prevents travel, or induces snowball fights or sledding. Much of our life is dictated by weather from what we wear to how we travel to what our leisure activities will be that week. There is a reason that the Weather Channel is so popular. Often, talk of the weather can lead to much more intense conversations of relocation or family or major spiritual revelations. In order to get to the more intense part of the conversation, you have to open the door.

Small talk opens the door of communication. When someone says, “Is it hot enough for you?” you have the choice of mocking this as cliché, or of trying to understand why it is a cliché. It may be that the person asking the question is just metaphorically knocking on your door.

One of my best friends and I communicate a lot via email, but even when she lived in the area, we would have detailed conversations about the order we were going to pay our bills in. Neither of us were bored with these conversations, because they were important to us. To an outsider, we probably looked like we were just sitting around spouting numbers to each other, but to us, we were talking about our lives. In detail. Because the details are what we obsessed over, so having someone who cares about the details is great. When someone knows your details, they often know what you are thinking and how you will react in various situations.

Much of our lives are minutiae. Updating my status on Facebook, and reading the status updates of others, has shown me that life is often comprised of paying the bills, doing the laundry, making dinner, and vacuuming before company arrives. Considering the amount of time we spend on these mundane activities, it makes sense that we would want to talk about them. Also, in the atmosphere of a spiritual circle, I would like to know what person hates vacuuming but is pretty happy to wash dishes. When cleanup time arrives, you really don’t want to make it worse by asking people to do jobs they dread the most.

Growing up, we used to joke that my mother could find out someone’s life story in a matter of a few minutes. I would watch her sit in a waiting room and either strike up a conversation with someone seated next to her, or watch her respond favorably to someone asking her a mundane, small talk question. After 10 minutes, my mother would know how hard it was when that person’s parent died, where they worked, the names of every member of their family, what type of humor would make them laugh, and much, much more. Somewhere in her head is an endless filing cabinet of people who live in her large community and there are few people she doesn’t know. It makes her home more of a home to her to know about everyone in the community. It also makes her well liked.

It makes going shopping with her a nightmare because she is stopped constantly, but, hey, I’m kind of anti-social when shopping as it isn't my favorite thing in the world.

Small talk can be very boring, but in a lot of ways it works as the glue for holding a community together. With spiritual circles being fairly small communities, but communities nonetheless, small talk greases the wheels of communication and helps people ease into being comfortable with one another. Small talk is an ice breaker that most people are familiar with and one that they can understand. It is a social ritual that exists for a purpose, even if we often don’t think too much about that purpose. In a world where much of human interaction is online and brief, small talk serves to find commonality, break the ice, and helps people learn more about each other in a pressure free manner.

I also think that small talk is how we test the waters with each other. If you care enough to listen to me talk about how that one red sock had me wearing pink underwear for a few years, chances are you will care enough about the larger issues in my life. If you can be trusted to listen to me talk about eating beans and rice for three months with empathy and respect, chances are you can be trusted to listen to me talk about my hopes and fears. Small talk allows us, in the early stages of building a rapport, to test the waters with each other.

To end with the mundane, it is really late and I am tired so I am off to bed – it rained outside and the change in pressure has induced a bit of a headache. Is it wet enough outside for you?

http://sjlightworkers.com

Deep pools of compassion and creativity are in evidence with this dramatic configuration. This stellium forms a trine to Mars in Leo as it opposes retrograde Saturn in Libra. Both great joy and great sorrow will be shared in the World at large. Faith and courage are amplified even at a time that events would seem unjust. Champions for the weak, sick or hungry will be working powerfully behind the scenes as hearts open to humanity as a whole.

FULL MOON occurs on March 29, 2010 @ 10:25:25 PM EDT
This Full Moon in Libra is in square to Pluto in Capricorn as it opposes the Aries Sun. This T-square indicated that we must actively pursue peace, remain true to our identity and do so in a powerful and enduring manner. This is an excellent time to re-dedicate ourselves to peace, freedom and security * the original objectives of this Nation. The influence of the Cardinal signs in this configuration indicated that we must aspire to our highest ideals as we reflect on our essence and build a new kingdom based on what history has taught us.

Mars Stations Direct on its scenic tour through Leo!

Mars is going to be in Leo for a very long time! Mars in Leo is sunny, bright, generous and warm! It will call us to pursue our heart's desire as it stays in the sign of Leo as long as it can stay in any sign until early summer 2010!

Mars made it entrance into Leo on October 16, 2009 at 11:32 AM and will station retrograde on December 20, 2009 at 08:27 AM EST and will station direct on March 10, 2010 at 12:47 PM EST. Mars will complete its tour of Leo on June 7, 2010 at 02:11 AM!

Courage and bravery will infuse each of us in different ways. Purr or roar in this cycle! You choose! The dramatic arts and appreciation and decoration of heroes in all walks of life are seen! Be sure to demonstrate your love and loyalty in this rare cycle! Remember that the sign of the Lion can also be proud, arrogant and ferocious! Know when to pounce and when to pull your claws back in! Throughout this amazing cycle, Mars will be in and out of its shadow and you will witness much passive-aggressive behavior in your dealings with others. Present your creativity with courage but demonstrate your wisdom in knowing that this is a territorial cycle for many. Try not to step on anyone*s tail!

Saturn Retrograde Alert!

Saturn, the Great Teacher of the zodiac, stationed retrograde on January 13, 2010 at 10:56 AM EST and will remain so until May 29, 2010 at 02:08 AM. During its retrograde it remains in square to Pluto in Capricorn. These ponderous planets on a grand scale indicate much change in legislature, corporate responsibility and the League of Nations. Litigations that appear in view of the public can suffer from delays and reputations and liabilities of those in a position of power may be re-examined. A long look back at history in other recessions and the impact of progress through revolutionary ingenuity is also seen. Strategies to deal with the war on terror will also be re-established on a Global scale.
http://sjlightworkers.com
